NCPB remain the biggest threat to the military side's chances of clinching the title
Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) men's league side, Ulinzi HC continued their dominant show in the league with a 30-19 victory over Black Mamba.
Heading to the weekend match, Ulinzi were looking to extend their unbeaten streak to 21, having only dropped a point once during the run.
The Nixon Oyaro-led military side got off to a good start, carrying a 10-goal lead (17-07) into the half time break. They completed the route in the second half with Kevin Imo leading the charts with eight goals.
Nicholas Ireri and Gideon Kiprotich. Bethwel Kiprop was the match's tip scorer with 12 but it was not enough to propel Mamba to victory.
National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) remain Ulinzi's toughest test as they too are unbeaten, having played for 18 wins. The two sides are yet to clash. The highly-anticipated match is likely to decide the league winner.
Elsewhere, General Service Unit (GSU) continued their winning ways, seeing off Nanyuki 36-26, barely a week after shocking Equity Bank HC 32-31 to maintain their second place.
The Gabriel Otwane-led paramilitary side has lost once but two draws have put a dent in their title run as Equity have a better chance, having lost only once.
Meanwhile, the women’s league has Nairobi Water firmly in control as they lead the standings on 36 points, having lost just once.
On the weekend, the side easily defeated varsity side Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) 48-10 to continue their match to yet another title.
However, closest competitor Ulinzi Sharks are breathing down their neck, winning their weekend match 46-08 against mountain Queens.
